The workshop for jurists from Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and West Bank & Gaza was held in Beirut, Lebanon on April 27-28, 2006. The workshop reviewed alternative dispute resolution methods for the legal community. Eleven prominent Egyptian lawyers and judges were in attendance.

An advanced, three-day Training for International Commercial Mediators and Arbitrators has been organized for February 5-7, 2007, in Cairo, Egypt. The course is open to Egyptian business lawyers.

Country Legal Experts in Egypt
A team of Egyptian Country Legal Experts was selected to assist in the implementation of the project. These experts are junior lawyers who have contributed to the creation of the Egypt Country Chapter and provide ongoing assistance in the organization and promotion of workshops and trainings.

Egypt Country Chapter
The Egyptian Country Legal Experts researched the state of arbitration and mediation in Egypt. As a result of their research, they have composed a report outlining their findings.

ADR Providers in Egypt
A key project activity is the establishment of an EU-MEDA network of ADR providers. The goal of this network is to promote the exchange of information and cooperation among these centers in the 27 EU countries and the 10 MEDA countries.
