Who we are

The European Commission has entrusted a consortium headed by ADR Center (www.adrcenter.it), and including the Centre de Médiation et d'Arbitrage de Paris (CMAP) (www.mediationetarbitrage.com), IBF International Consulting (www.ibf.be), and Confartigianato (www.confartigianato.it), with a project to promote international commercial arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) techniques in ten MEDA Countries (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, and West Bank & Gaza).

The formal name of the project is Promotion of International Commercial Arbitration and Other Alternative Dispute Resolution Techniques in MEDA Countries. The purpose of the project is to facilitate foreign investment and international trade, including South-South trade, by helping the MEDA countries develop increased capacity and confidence in the handling and resolution of commercial disputes.

The project is particularly designed to assist small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), the backbone of all MEDA country economies, to develop greater skill and ease in dealing with counterparts in other countries. Therefore, the consortium works primarily with bar associations, jurists, local arbitration and other ADR groups, Chambers of Commerce, federations of industry, trade promotion agencies, and other organizations relied upon by SMEs for advice and related services.
